Progressive Christian Academyis an independent Christian school for students in grades preK - 12. Founded in 1999 by Pastor Don Massey and his wife, Karyn Massey, PCA has grown from 108 students to over 400, ranging from ages 3 to 18. During the 2004-2005 school year, PCA once again expanded and began offering classes in Waldorf, Maryland.
Progressive Christian Academy’s mission is to provide students with education that integrates the Christian faith and rigorous academic training. At PCA, students come to know God as true and living and “a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.”
Our school day is from 8am – 3pm. However, there are before care, after care, extracurricular activities, and athletic programs offered in the mornings and afternoons.
ACADEMICS
The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) curriculum is used to provide daily lessons on both Old Testament and New Testament writings emphasizing the need to make Biblical choices in life. While PCA is a Christian institution, it also follows an aggressive and rigorous Abeka academic curriculum. In addition to required courses, PCA also offers many electives. Be sure to check the Parent's Bulletin Board for middle and high school Graduation Requirements.
ATHLETICS
The mission of the PCA Athletic Department is to enrich the spiritual lives, develop the social and moral character, and enhance the physical skills of our students by means of a competitive athletic program, administered in a loving and caring Christian environment.
CAMPS
PCA Summer Camps are a relaxing, yet structured environment, where children and young adults are taught a sense of community through fun and stimulating activities. As with all other programs, there is a Christian and Academic focus in all camp activities.
